- Nevada Transition Assistance Program (NVTAP)
The Giving Project provides resources and immediate assistance to southern Nevadans who are homeless or considered at-risk. NDVS attended its first Giving Project event where 572 individuals were served. The event is hosted by the Las Vegas Metro Police Department and is held on the second Saturday of each month. During this event, individuals are given food, clothing, healthcare services, as well as provided resources from multiple state agencies.
During LVMPD’s homeless outreach initiatives, they have come across approximately 670 veterans who identify as homeless in southern Nevada. NDVS will continue to partner with The Giving Project to help identify veterans and their families to get them the resources and aid needed. Our goal is to provide resources for disability benefits, employment, resume assistance, education, etc. for veterans in need.
