Veterans in Care Brings Honor and Recognition Ceremonies to Elko/Ely

Veterans were recognized and honored during Veterans in Care ceremonies hosted by NDVS on June 10th and 11th in Elko and Ely. The Veterans in Care program is an NDVS outreach initiative. It is focused on honoring aging veterans living in skilled care, residential care, and assisted living facilities as well as connecting these veterans to their earned benefits.  

The Elko ceremonies were held in collaboration with American Legion Commander Brenda Horton, Veterans Services Commission Chairman Mike Musgrove, along with support from the VFW Post 2350 and NDVS Veterans Service Officers Kacie Ortiz and Shay Preece.  

Our thanks also goes out to the American Legion White Pine Post #3, along with the executive leadership of White Pine Care Center, Michelle Banks, and the facility’s Activities Assistant.
