Congratulations Veterans Specialty Court Graduates

Congratulations to eight veterans who completed and graduated from the Reno Municipal Court CAMO-RENO Veterans Specialty Court on December 6, 2022! NDVS supports Nevada’s Veterans Specialty Courts by attending graduation ceremonies to provide graduates with information about NDVS programs and services. The graduates are also provided with an NDVS challenge coin as a way to congratulate them and remind them where they can go for support.  

Created in 2009, the Veterans Treatment Court aims to help veterans who served in the U.S. Armed Forces turn their lives back around from problems related to mental illness, substance abuse, post-traumatic stress disorder and military sexual trauma. Participants accused of nonviolent offenses are referred to this special court and must complete a rigorous program that provides substance use counseling, case management, drug testing as well as  referrals to vocational, academic, and housing programs. The VA supports this program by offering housing, case management as well as psychiatric and medical services when appropriate.  

The mission of this court is to provide holistic support that improves the quality of life for these veterans as well as reduces recidivism. For more information go HERE
