Record Breaking Attendance at Wreaths Across America

Participation at both the Northern and Southern Veterans Memorial Cemeteries for Wreaths Across America broke records in 2022. The December 17th event drew some 2,400 volunteers in Fernley at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery and 3,000 in the south, at Boulder City’s Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

The annual event takes place on the second or third week of December drawing individuals as well as those affiliated with churches, nonprofits, as well as civic and other groups from across Nevada. Participants lay a wreath on each individual gravesite while reflecting and saying the name of the interred veteran or veteran’s spouse/dependent being honored.

Wreaths Across America coordinates wreath-laying ceremonies at Arlington National Cemetery as well as 3,700 additional locations across the U.S. Donations to pay for wreaths are welcome. Please keep in mind you will need to indicate which veterans’ cemetery your donated wreath should go. In Nevada, indicate either the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley or the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City.

In case you missed the event, please enjoy the photos from both Northern and Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemeteries.
