The ICVA is a statewide working group. Its given objectives are to increase collaboration, develop statewide priorities, and make recommendations for policy changes at the state level. The fourteen council members who serve on the ICVA are appointed by the Governor and are identified in NRS 417.0191. These fourteen individuals represent the Governor’s veteran-related cabinet agencies as well as the federal VA, local communities, and nonprofit service providers. The ICVA’s work involves identifying statewide resources, creating efficiencies in local, state, and federal government services as well as the nonprofit sector. The ICVA also establishes an action plan for improving outcomes for veterans and the veteran community.
