Nevada’s Veterans Specialty Court

The NDVS team was on hand for the graduation ceremony of veterans who completed the rigorous, supervised program provided through the Veterans Court of the Second Judicial District Court in Washoe County. Team members lent their support and let these veterans know the department is a tremendous resource in connecting them to the benefits, resources and programs they have earned through U.S. military service.

Veterans Court aims to help veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces, National Guard, and active-duty military members who suffer from problems related to military service or readjustment to civilian life.

The Veterans Court targets eligible non-violent, justice-involved veterans with a focus on connecting these veterans to the appropriate treatment whether its mental illness, alcohol, substance abuse, post-traumatic stress disorder or military sexual trauma. Participants must be referred to the court to be eligible. The court operates as a 12-month program at no cost to the veteran.

Our congratulations and best wishes go out to the graduates!
