Memorial Day

This year Memorial Day falls on Monday, May 26th with ceremonies planned at both the Northern and Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemeteries.

Governor Joe Lombardo is expected to attend the 11:00 a.m. ceremony in Fernley with Thomas Talamante, Executive Director of the VA Sierra Nevada Health Care System serving as the keynote speaker.

At the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, the 1:00 p.m. ceremony will feature a number of speakers as well as a presentation by the UNLV Rebel Vets who will present nearly 7,000 dog tags of fallen service members as tribute to those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the Global War on Terrorism that began on September 11, 2001.

On Saturday, May 24, 2025, Flag-In will begin at 7:00 a.m. at the southern Boulder City Veterans Memorial Cemetery with Flag-in beginning at 8:30 a.m. at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

The annual Special Forces Ceremony is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
