Honoring Korean War Veterans on 75th Anniversary

A special ceremony was held to recognize and commemorate the 75th Anniversary of the Korean War.

The event was hosted by the Las Vegas Korean Association and the Korean Veterans Association Southwest USA, Las Vegas Chapter. The ceremony featured both Korean and English speakers and included Sonny Vinuya with the Governor’s Office and Lt. Governor Stavros Anthony.

The Korean War began on June 25, 1950, lasting three years and involving more than 20 nations under the United Nations Command. More than 1.8 million American service members fought alongside troops from South Korea, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, the Philippines, Thailand, and other allied nations to defend the Republic of Korea’s freedom and sovereignty.

As the number of surviving war veterans continues to diminish each year, the 75th anniversary commemoration provided a vital opportunity for us to remember and celebrate these veterans’ enduring legacy.
