Governor Steve Sisolak gave honor to nine recipients of the Veteran of the Month or the Veteran Supporter of the Month (VOM/VSM) award in a special in-person ceremony held last month in the lobby of the Grant Sawyer building in Las Vegas.
The VOM/VSM recipients missed their in-person recognition with the Governor due to the pandemic. Two similar VOM/VSM group ceremonies were held on November 11, 2021 in Las Vegas and in Carson City on April 26, 2022, to honor both southern and northern Nevada recipients. NDVS plans to work with future awardees and the Governor’s office to begin holding these recognition ceremonies quarterly.
The VOM/VSM awards recognize the volunteer work done to benefit Nevada’s veterans, servicemembers and families. The public ceremonies provide recipients with the thanks they deserve and to raises awareness to the public about the volunteer opportunities available to support and benefit Nevada’s veterans’ community. The names of the recipients are as follows. Our congratulations go out to them:
