Battle Born Memorial to Nevada’s Fallen Military – We Need Your Help!

The dedication ceremony for Battle Born: Memorial to Nevada’s Fallen Military is set for November 9, 2018. We need your help to spread the word and to find *immediate family members who lost a Nevada hero in combat.

The ceremony will be held on the Capitol Grounds in Carson City outside the Nevada State Library and Archives building, located at 100 North Stewart Street. The reception will start at 9:00 a.m. The ceremony will start at 10:00 a.m. We hope you will mark your calendar and tell your friends!

We want to ensure these family members are invited to the ceremony. We also want to make sure we reimburse them for their travel, if they are eligible. (More on eligibility in a moment!)

Eligible family members must be a spouse, father, mother, sister, brother, son or daughter of a Nevada military member killed in combat while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces. In other words, the name of the fallen would be on the Battle Born Memorial. NDVS is offering travel reimbursement for up to two people per family for round trip air are from Las Vegas to Reno, with shuttle to and from the ceremony. NDVS is also offering fuel reimbursement if travel is more than 75 miles from the ceremony in Carson City. Eligible travel reimbursement must be pre-approved. The deadline to make the request is August 31, 2018.
