NDVS- Registered Dietitian 2 – Nevada State Veteran’s Home – Boulder City

Registered Dietitians provide nutritional care and medical nutrition therapy for individuals and groups in institutional, clinic, research, community and residential settings and provide nutrition education to clients/patients and families in accordance with accepted professional practices and standards.Incumbents possess a degree of knowledge and proficiency sufficient to perform work independently with little or no additional training.
Under the direction of the Nursing Facility Administrator, the Registered Dietitian is responsible for monitoring and assuring meal quality and evaluating the performance of the food services contractor on an ongoing basis. In addition, this position will provide nutritional care and diet therapy for geriatric residents; develop, implement, and monitor individual and group dietary plans; review data from residents medical files; identify nutritional needs for each resident; document dietary plans in resident records; monitor and oversee food preparation to ensure nutritional plans are being upheld each day and ensure daily adherence to proper food handling, sanitation and safety practices and the efficiency and accountability of food service. This position is located at the Nevada State Veterans Home, a 24-hour nursing home facility located in Boulder City.
