Online Wellness Resources for Women Veterans

Keeping your body and mind healthy during stressful times is an important aspect of self-care. The Department of Veterans Affairs offers a variety of online resources, which help women veterans reduce anxiety, build new coping skills, and increase feelings of well-being.

The #LiveWholeHealth video series features guided meditations on compassionate breathing, mindfulness, and loving kindness as well as Tai Chi and music therapy.

If you’re experiencing more time at home with your children, experts agree there is a greater chance for normal parenting strategies to deteriorate. The VA offers an online course “Parenting for Service Members and Veterans,” which teaches positive communication and how to deal with difficult behaviors, providing tools for strengthening your parenting skills throughout the day.

Service women who are new to the VA system can schedule online training regarding benefits and healthcare geared specifically for female veterans. Visit VA Women’s Health Transition Training (WHTT) to sign up for a virtual class.

For non-urgent VA Healthcare appointments regarding pregnancy, reproductive choices, mental health check-ins, or other health issues, consider meeting virtually with your VA provider by using the telehealth option.
