Veterans Share Thoughts at Community Roundtables  

NDVS hosted a series of three Veteran Community Roundtable events earlier this month in Las Vegas, Mesquite and Pahrump. The ideas, thoughts and comments shared by veterans at each event differed in the three communities.

In Las Vegas, the topics ranged from improving suicide prevention efforts to expanding and supporting more Veteran Service Officers (VSOs). The leaders of several nonprofits and veterans’ organizations also attended asking about support and funding opportunities.

In Mesquite, participants were focused on healthcare and VSO concerns asking about caregiving support and medical transportation needs. They also voiced support for the community’s VSO and the desire to add more VSOs to support Nevada veterans.

Pahrump veterans were also very engaged asking for more VSO support. They were also focused on beefing up the crew of volunteer drivers who assist in transporting veterans to medical appointments.

NDVS is planning another series of roundtable events in these three community to follow up and address each question and concern. Dates, times and locations of the Las Vegas and Pahrump roundtables are being planned. The date for the Mesquite roundtable has been set for July 23, 2025, at Sun City with more details to come!
