Women Veterans Conference March 2022

By Savannah Aseoche

(Reno, Nevada) – We want to thank everyone who attended the 2022 NDVS Annual Women Veterans Conference. This year the event was held at the Reno-Sparks Convention Center and was also accessible via Zoom. The keynote speaker, Lourdes Tiglao, Director of the VA’s Center for Women Veterans, provided an entertaining and educational presentation. Women veterans had opportunities to hear from and meet the Women Veteran Program Managers from each of the three VA Health Care Systems that cover the state; the Sierra Nevada Health Care System, Southern Nevada Health Care System, and Salt Lake City Health Care System (eastern Nevada). An array of supportive community organizations offered resources and recognition of Nevada’s women veterans, active-duty, reserve, and guard service members. To find resources from the event please visit, https://veterans.nv.gov/hold-the-date-women-veterans-conference-march-12th-2022/

As we go into April and Women’s History Month closes out the month of March, we encourage women veterans and service members to seek out their local program managers and supportive community organizations to learn more about the services offered and local events taking place in support of women veterans.

Finally, if any women veterans need any assistance or are seeking more information on benefits, please contact me at:  aseoches@veterans.nv.gov
